THE BEST DOG IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD
Koda Flores
His birth name was APOLLO, Greek god of many things… healing, music, the sun and light etc... It seems those are the things we need the most right now.
Born 11/24/2006
He was Janessa’s 3rd birthday gift. Luis drove all the way to Logan for him, and he made our family complete. He was so well- trained. Even in our saddest moment Janessa stayed in gratitude. She Thanked her Dad for giving Koda to her and training him to be the BEST DOG EVER! She was grateful to all the Dr's. and nurses who tried so hard to save his life.
We would say, "Go with Janessa," and he would go straight to her room to offer unlimited cuddles and protection. He was a monster hunter, companion in the dark, a best friend, and a first love . We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, him so much and our family is in tremendous pain after losing him. We did all we could to save his life. Emergency transfer, oxygen kennel, blood transfusion, and after a second abdominal ultrasound we found internal bleeding and numerous signs indicating cancer or severe gastrointestinal disease. Both had horrible outcomes, we had to make the hardest decision of our lives.
We sent him to Heaven 6/14/2018 a little before 12:00 pm
As our day was filled with shock and all sorts of emotions Luis and I sat down to watch a episode of Westworld and the episode was titled...
"Mi cante ki yu ha ya ye." (Take my heart when you go".) I just lost it. It seemed as if everything was speaking out to me.
Some things are better left to be talked about personally rather than socially so those closest to us don’t be scared to ask about our Koda bear we would love to tell you our story.
As I reminisced over our time with him and scrolled through hard drive after hard drive. I collected some of my favorite photos and I am also sharing a video that Shailynn Photo and Film put together for us, which I am so glad we have.
